Intertwined

Studio 207 · 20 - 23 November, 10:00am–6:00pm

Intertwined is a series of short looping animations that consists of intriguing geometric structures composed of organic and human elements. Human hands form a many sided sphere that morphs to different shapes in an intriguing stringent motion. The tension between organic elements and machine-like movements makes a fascinating combination of the technological and the natural.

Vibeke Bertelsen's work explores how technology reshapes our understanding of the body and identity, with particular attention to gendered and post-human embodiments. Working primarily with AI-generated images and short digital videos, she constructs visual worlds that hover between the aesthetically seductive and the grotesquely unstable. Vibeke is a full-time member of the renowned Vertigo artist studio with whom she has received multiple grants from the National Arts Council of Denmark and performed the audio-visual work Vanitas/Residue for the National Gallery of Denmark. This collaborative environment allows her to develop her own works while continuing her dialogue between experimental imagery and technology
