Big Microsounds

Big Microsounds is an innovative and immersive sound performance project by Andreas Monopolis, also known as MoCM. In this project, audiences are invited on an auditory journey through an evolving, acoustic virtual soundscape where human and technological elements seamlessly interact and transform. The outcome is an all-encompassing sonic experience that pushes the boundaries of perception and invites listeners to explore the relationship between sound, emotion, and environment.
Key Themes & Elements:
Real-Time Sound Generation & Transformation: The performance is defined by live manipulation of sound materials and their evolving, unpredictable nature, encouraging an intimate, dynamic interaction with the audience.
Physical and Digital Regression: Exploring the intersection of human and non-human elements, the project reimagines and deconstructs both organic and technological inputs, creating a layered, mutable space of auditory perception.
Redefining Virtual Environments: The project will delve into the creation of immersive, evolving auditory landscapes that adapt and evolve through the performance, reshaping listeners’ sensory experiences.
Sonic & Emotional Engagement: Auditory and sensory elements are intentionally designed to evoke diverse emotional responses, while integrating both familiar and altered sound forms to offer new textures and qualities of sound.
Improvisation & Experimentation: While rooted in composed frameworks, Big Microsounds thrives on improvisational techniques, real-time experimentation, and artistic feedback loops, allowing the performance to take on a unique shape at each showing.
