In my work, I like to take existing systems and twist them into something new. I thought, if the capitalist system appropriates art, then let’s appropriate the system!
amazin project is a live performance and a digital intervention. I use JS scripts to turn the Amazon website – an icon of consumerism and capitalist labor, into a work of art. I break it, make it much more beautiful, and completely unusable. And as a result, I make the world a little better, at least for the duration of the performance.
Every time the performance is different and unique, not only because I act differently and the code behaves differently, but also because the website itself is constantly changing in real time. And in this way, it helps create a truly endless and unique performance.
For creating music, I use Strudel and SuperCollider.
Lena Plotnikova / visual_punk_ltd
I’m a multidisciplinary artist working with visual art, contemporary photography, video, and live coding. My background is in photo and video art, and I like to describe my practice as visual punk - a mix of glitch aesthetics, improvisation, and anti-systemic energy.
I’m an active member of the live coding communities in Madrid and Barcelona and regularly perform at From Scratch and at Algoraves events. My performances often use errors, noise, and cheap or amateur equipment to reveal the raw side of live creation and evoke “true” emotions.
I hold a B.A. in Photography, where I researched the Semiotics of Amateur Photography, and later studied contemporary art, theory, and new media. I also have a technical background in JavaScript, full-stack Web Development and Data Analysis.
In the past, I co-produced media art festivals and installations that merged technology, sound, and social commentary.
I’ve participated in “Excesos Extrasensoriales” at Matadero Medios Sintientes Openlab#1 (Madrid), InSonora Festival (Madrid), VIU Festival (Barcelona), and ICLC Algopoetica (Madrid). I also give a Hydra workshop for beginners, introducing new artists to live coding and audiovisual improvisation. My work is grounded in anti-capitalist and community-based values. I see art as a tool for questioning systems of power and creating temporary zones of freedom and beauty. Through coding, performance, and collaboration, I try to make the consumerist side of the digital world more chaotic, transparent, and alive.
